（2）教师事先准备好学生家庭的电话号码，随意找出几位同学的号码，用英语说出电话号码。
（3）请同学根据听到的电话号码，站起来接电话，同时也训练了学生的听力能力。学生听到老师播自己家的电话号码也会很兴奋。
（4）请同学和老师进行一个电话对话。
（5）和同学一起总结打电话用语，注意与日常用语的异同：

教师出示P67--Let’s read部分的教学挂图，说：Look at this picture. Miss White and her students are having a farewell party. But Liu Yun doesn’t come. Why? What’s the matter with her? Let’s read the dialogue.
请同学自己阅读对话部分，不清楚的和不明白的可以互相讨论或问老师。
教师提出问题：
What’s the matter with Liu Yun?
Is everybody having a good time?
What are they doing?
Are the students happy?
完成Answer the questions部分的练习。
教师放Let’s read P67部分的录音，学生跟读，然后分角色朗读对话。
教师说：In the end of the dialogue, Miss White says she will give Liu Yun a big surprise. Do you know what it is? Can you guess?

启发并鼓励学生运用以前所学过的知识说出更多类似的句子。
活动五：Look up the words
教学参考时间：5分钟
教师在黑板上写出一个新单词，让学生朗读并说出中文意思。
在没有学生能够读出单词并说出中文意思的情况下，教师启发学生：你能用什么方法既能准确读出单词并且说出中文意思？经过讨论得出答案：If there are some words you don’t know, look them up in a dictionary.
教师可以先请几名学生说一说怎样使用英汉词典，正确地加以肯定，不对的给以纠正和补充。
教师在黑板上写出一些单词，让学生使用字典查出单词的音标和中文，并填写相应的表格中。
